FYLGIA HOFILENA

Isn't she cute? Fylgia Rodrigazo married to Roque Hofilena is the oldest daughter of Elizalde Paculan Rodrigazo. It was Manang Fylgia who sent me the 1934 picture of Tiya'y Lydia. She, along with Manong Junior (Abundio Rodrigazo Arrieta) and Manang Shirley are among the seniors in the Rodrigazo clan, the historians. It is them who has the personal accounts of things we are publishing for our future generations to read and trace their roots.

Their eldest son was George, followed by an equally beautiful lady (pardon me if my memory falters for now), Filemon and Donna, insofar as my recollection permits. I hope that Manang Flygia shall supply us with more details about her children and grandchildren. I also appreciate her sending of old photographs and comments in reconstructing the history of our clan. I'm sure George will be happy about this. It was him who I have the privilege to get acquintance with in my younger days when we were still in Murcia. I was about five or six years old then.

I have no recent information about George or Felimon. George is about my age or must have been older than me. At any rate, we will appreciate it very much if they can participate in our exchanges of notes. More so, if he can help us, his father Manong Roque is now with the Negros Occidental Historical Council and Manang Fylgia is also helping him to materialize the noble projects they are undertaking to retrace the history of people who helped shape Negros Occidental's destiny. I hope they include our great grandfather General Mateo Luga, the last General of Emilio Aguinaldo who surrendered to the Americans in Cebu. He has been in Sagay. He organized the Babaylanes to resists the colonization of the island by the Spaniards. I hope they send us information if they can come accross any materials concerning him.
